If you are new to marketing and have no formal marketing qualifications, the CIM Introductory Certificate is your first step into marketing.

What are the entry criteria?

You need to have attained atleast an aggregate C+ in your KCSE examinations with a pass in English.

What are the benefits?

This course provides a solid foundation for a successful career in marketing. It also provides a pathway to further CIM qualifications, chartered status.

The qualification involves studying two modules:

What is Marketing?

Understanding Customer Relationships

How will I be assessed?

The first module, What is Marketing, is assessed through written one-hour examination at the KNEC (Kenya National Examination Council) premises on Dennis Pritt Road, Nairobi. The other module, Understanding Customer Relationships, is assessed through a written project comprising a series of short work-based tasks.

How much time will I need to put aside?

Each module requires a minimum of 30 hours of study. In total, this qualification will require approximately three hours study a week for six months
